Wulo Flow

AI-Powered Data Processing — Upload to Declaration in Minutes

Wulo Flow is your data preparation and calculation workspace. Raw operational data goes in — validated, CBAM-compliant XML declarations come out.

01

Upload Your Data — Any Format

Drag and drop invoices, energy bills, production certificates, or connect to databases. Wulo accepts CSV, Excel, PDFs, scanned images, copy-paste, and URLs. AI extracts tables from any document, any language.

02

AI Maps to CBAM Standardized Tables

Describe transformations in plain English — Wulo's AI agent generates the mapping code, previews results, and records every step. Your data is mapped to all 8 CBAM tables: consignments, production outputs, material inputs, energy flows, emission factors, method tags, allocation rules, and default policies.

03

Automated Validation & Readiness Checks

Completeness, unit consistency, mass balance, and referential integrity — all checked automatically. Clear green/amber/red status badges tell you if you're ready to calculate or what needs fixing.

04

Compute SEE & Generate Declaration

One click launches the full calculation pipeline: validate inputs, confirm mass balance, compute direct + indirect + precursor emissions per installation and good, generate the signed XML declaration, summary CSV, and verification pack — all with SHA-256 integrity hashing.

The SEE Formula

SEE total (tCO₂e/t) = (Direct + Indirect + Precursor) / Output Tonnes

Direct = Σ (fuel qty × fuel EF) + process emissions

Indirect = electricity (MWh) × grid EF (tCO₂e/MWh)

Precursor = Σ (precursor qty × precursor SEE)

Wulo Assist

Your AI Copilot for CBAM Compliance

Wulo Assist has live context about your projects, runs, data quality findings, and calculation results. Ask it anything — and get answers in seconds, not hours.

AI-Native

Powered by AI. Built for CBAM.

Not a generic chatbot. Wulo Assist understands CBAM regulations, your specific data, and your calculation pipeline. Ask questions, fix errors, look up emission factors, check policies, and email suppliers — all from one chat.

Diagnose Run Failures

Ask "Why did my last run fail?" and get plain-English explanations with exact fixes — missing emission factors, wrong units, incomplete tables.

"Your run failed due to a missing emission factor for grid electricity. Add scope='indirect' with activity_type='grid_electricity'. For Germany in 2025, the grid EF is ~0.35 tCO₂e/MWh."

Calculate SEE On the Fly

Get instant emission estimates without running the full pipeline. Just describe your inputs and get a detailed breakdown.

"Calculate SEE for steel rebar: 100,000t output, 50,000 GJ natural gas, 15,000 MWh grid electricity..."

Look Up Emission Factors

Search 1,000+ factors from DEFRA, IEA, IPCC, and national inventories. By fuel type, country, year — with source and confidence level.

"What is the grid electricity emission factor for Turkey in 2025?"

Check EU CBAM Regulations

Get answers to policy questions with source citations from the CBAM Knowledge Base — regulations, implementing acts, Commission Q&A.

"Are default emission values still allowed in 2026?"

Email Suppliers About Missing Data

Draft and send professional data request emails through your connected Gmail account — with a direct link to a supplier data form.

"Send an email to [email protected] about missing Q4 2025 emission data."

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about CBAM compliance with Wulo

What is the EU CBAM and who does it affect?

The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is an EU regulation that requires importers of certain goods — including iron and steel — to report and pay for the CO₂ emissions embedded in those imports. From January 2026, only Authorized CBAM Declarants can import affected products, and they must purchase certificates matching the embedded emissions.

What iron and steel products are covered by CBAM?

CBAM covers goods classified under CN codes in Annex I of Regulation 2023/956. For iron and steel, this includes Chapter 72 (iron and steel base products like pig iron, ferro-alloys, flat-rolled products, bars, rods, wire) and Chapter 73 (articles of iron and steel like tubes, pipes, screws, bolts, structures).

How does Wulo compute Specific Embedded Emissions?

Wulo runs a multi-stage pipeline: validate all standardized inputs, confirm material mass balance, then compute direct emissions (fuel × emission factor + process), indirect emissions (electricity × grid EF), and precursor emissions (precursor material × precursor SEE). The total SEE per tonne = (Direct + Indirect + Precursor) / Output Tonnes. Every step is recorded with SHA-256 hashing for reproducibility.

What file formats can I upload?

Wulo accepts CSV, Excel, PDF, scanned images, copy-paste from spreadsheets, URLs to live data sources, and direct database connections (PostgreSQL, MySQL). Our AI extracts tables from any document type — including invoices in any language.

How does Wulo handle missing supplier data?

Wulo Assist can draft and send professional data request emails to your suppliers through your connected Gmail account. Each email includes a direct link to a Supplier Data Form where suppliers enter installation data, production outputs, energy consumption, and emission factors in a structured format.

When is the first annual CBAM declaration due?

The deadline for submitting the 2026 annual CBAM declaration and surrendering certificates is 31 May 2027. Recent proposals suggest moving this to 31 August 2027. Importers may also need quarterly certificate procurement covering approximately 50% of estimated emissions.

Are default emission values allowed under CBAM?

From July 2024, use of default values became increasingly limited. During the definitive phase (2026+), specific actual emission data is required. Wulo Assist can look up the latest guidance on when defaults may be used, the maximum share, and whether approval is required.

What about sectors other than iron and steel?

Wulo is currently purpose-built for iron and steel CBAM compliance. Support for cement, aluminium, electricity, hydrogen, and fertilizers is coming soon.
